Exhausted but happy!

Since getting home from the service trip last month, I've spent every spare moment programming a new website for the Mayan Families organization. Our goal has been to get it up in time for this year's big student sponsorship drive. It's been a labor of love, and I'm thrilled that it's finally up and running... but boy am I exhausted! And I am oh-so-ready to refocus my attention back on Gary and BabyGirl. A few months back we were getting worried because her speech seemed a bit delayed. But then it exploded overnight. Now she's talking up a storm. In fact, she hardly ever STOPS talking! And she NEVER stops moving. I can't wait to post the video of her non-stop spinning machine. I also have some cute-cute-cute photos to share from the holidays. Give me a couple days to recuperate from my website programming marathon. Then I want to update the all the photos on the Sunflowers home page. And I still want to post my personal thoughts/feelings about returning to Guatemala and the service trip. In the meantime, here are some recent news articles about our trip and/or adoption:
And don't forget to check out the new Mayan Families website I designed and programmed. There are many pages and features we'll be working on over the next several weeks and months. But we reached our goal of getting the online Student Sponsorship system working in time to for the remaining students to get sponsored for the 2009 school year! I'm sure hoping to see those sponsorships come rolling in. Education really is the only chance a Mayan child has of escaping the crushing poverty that is so rampant in the highlands of Guatemala. Lastly, to tide you over for few more days, here's a pic of Eliana's favorite (and loudest) gift of the holidays! (imagine high pitched tooting followed by squeals of laughter...)
Now I'm off to enjoy Sunday breakfast with Gary and Eliana. As BabyGirl would say... haaaaaaapyyyyyyy! :-) Love you all! Cheri prev entry next entry |
