Send your Foster Family a Christmas card!

When a ton of adoptive families asked our Helping Mayan Families group to transport Christmas cards (with all important PHOTOS) to their foster Families in Guatemala, we were flummoxed because we didn't have a way to get the cards delivered TO the foster mothers once we got them to Guatemala City.  

Well, I'm happy to say, that problem has been overcome! We've made arrangements with a trusted driver in Guatemala City to hand deliver the envelopes. YAY!

For a minimum $10 donation to Mayan Families, we will take a flat package (no bigger than a 9x12 manila envelope) with us to Guatemala, and to give it to a reliable, trusted driver, who will make every effort to hand deliver the package to your foster mother.

The driver's delivery charge, which is dependent on your foster mom's location, will be taken from your minimum $10 donation. Any amount in excess of the delivery fee will be given directly to the Mayan Families organization.

A FEW IMPORTANT NOTES

1. We can only accept flat packages, no larger than a 9X12 manila envelope, because most of our suitcase space if allocated to taking supplies for the clinics we're running in Panajachel.
2. You must provide us an address for your foster mother. If you don't know the address, your adoption Family Court or PGN documents contain your foster mother's address as of the time of your adoption.
3. Please understand that some foster families may have moved since your adoption was completed. If the family no longer lives at the address that you provide, there is no way for us to get the package back for you. For this reason, consider carefully whether to send photos and a card only, or to risk including cash.
4. The foster family must live in the general Guatemala City area or nearby suburbs.
5. We will need to receive the packages no later than December 1.

So, surprise your beloved foster family with pictures of your cherubs, and help some very worthy people have a happy Christmas as well! And, feel free to pass this offer on to any other adoptive moms that you know.
