Choosing An Agency

After deciding on Guatemala, the next big step was to select an agency licensed to process Guatemalan adoptions. Another tough decision! We had already met with Dillon International and attended a day-long workshop with them. Dillon is a fairly large agency that has been doing international adoptions for over 30 years, and is licensed to facilitate adoptions with several countries. We had also found a promising small agency called For This Child that works exclusively with Guatemala. For This Child is relatively new, having processed adoptions for only 2 1/2 years. After talking with the staff of the two agencies, and reading client recommendations (including private email queries I sent to their clients through online forums), Gary and I felt that FTC was a slightly better fit for us. So we've decided to hire the services of For This Child.
